Is this the same is the stuff I cook with?

It is made of the same plant, The Turmeric used in cooking is the root that has been powderised, which typically contains 2% Curcumin. 

The powder in our capsules, is that same root powder, but it has gone through an extraction process, to extract the beneficial compound Curcumin, which has been standardised to 95% pure Curcumin, then mixed with the piperine to improve bioavailability by 20 times, making it 950 times stronger than simply taking Turmeric powder its self. 

This is why you will only need 1 or 2 capsules per day.

No! Although its a powerful supplement, its classified as food and containing NO synthetic chemicals or Drugs, so there is no need to obtain a prescription. 

However if you are on medications or have health problems check with your doctor first.

Turmeric is tolerated well by most people, so long as you don’t take more than the maximum dose.
